SoftJin Announces Blaze DFM as Its Customer, Outsourcing of EDA Software Components Development Is a Win-Win Strategy for DFM Company

SANTA CLARA, CA and BANGALORE, INDIA – July 2, 2007 – SoftJin, a customized EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tool development company, announced today that Blaze DFM, the Electrical Design for Manufacturing (DFM) company, has joined SoftJin’s growing list of customers for custom EDA software components.

SoftJin’s software component development and licensing business model proves crucial for bringing quality DFM software to market faster.

“Our customized EDA tools model using a combination of custom tool development and re-usable software components have been accepted as the way to go by several semiconductor and EDA companies,” noted Nachiket Urdhwareshe, CEO of SoftJin. “Blaze DFM is among the leading EDA technology companies, who understand the value of adding quality and proven components to their software, so they can commercialize products faster and focus on their core expertise.”

SoftJin’s offerings used by Blaze include the Bi-directional OpenAccess to OASIS Translator and custom verification package for validation of key software modules of Blaze’s products.

”Speed is of the essence to us. As a startup, Blaze’s existence depends on our ability to deliver high-value products to our customers on a timely basis,” said Dr. Steffen Rochel, vice-president of engineering at Blaze. “Wherever possible, we leverage existing technology and infrastructure. That’s what drove our selection of the OpenAccess database and our licensing of EDA software components from SoftJin. This approach enabled us to deliver our first product, Blaze MO leakage power optimization software, in less than 18 months.”
